The Fate of the Furious : Plot and Cast
It has been 16 years since the first Fast and the Furious movie hit the big screens and a whole lot of stuff has changed since then. Paul Walker’s demise, shortly before the release of the seventh movie in the franchise opened up a huge number of talks regarding the future of the series and whether upcoming sequels will be in the question or not. However, doubts regarding the sequel have been significantly shunned as the eighth installment of the series, The Fate of the Furious, is slated to premiere in April later this year.
The previous film in the Franchise saw Dominic Toretto and crew fight back a vengeful Deckard Shaw subjecting him to solitary confinement for good but it does seem that the assassin has made a getaway in the latest iteration of the franchise. Although the bigger news is that Jason Statham’s Shaw will not be the primary antagonist in the movie, the role going to Charlize Theron who plays the criminal mastermind Cipher. Now that Is something which a whole lot of people are looking forward to.
The Fate of the Furious is slated to re-unite a cast with the likes of Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris Bridges, Nathalie Emmanuel and Kurt Russell with Helen Mirren and Scott Eastwood the new notable additions apart from Theron. There has been considerable speculation surrounding Jason Statham’s longevity in the movie and the latest reports do clearly state that the Transporter star will not feature as much as he did in Fast and Furious 7.
Concrete information regarding the plotline of The Fate of the Furious have not been obtained although it can very well be assumed that the movie will bring back Dominic and his crew back together for some ‘job’. At least that is the way it has turned out to be as the franchise took a turn towards the heist thriller genre from the street-racing genre from the fifth film. Nevertheless, there is no doubt about the potential of the upcoming movies in terms of cars showcased or even action scenes. The franchise is known to use a variety of diverse shooting locations across and that has remained the same with Fast and Furious 8 having a major portion of the film shot in Cuba.
